Congratulations to all of the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who participated in our very own unique solo and ensemble festival! It was great to see these up and coming young musicians perform, many of them for the first time, many of them having learned their instruments at home during the Covid shut down. And several of them having only rehearsed for a handful of days! Kudos to all!

Central Washington University's WindFest serves as the premier concert band festival in the Pacific Northwest. This festival showcases 30 of the finest high school wind ensembles over the course of three days. WindFest is a non-competitive sharing of music between wind band ensembles, and groups will be adjudicated and given clinics.

MIHS' Wind Ensemble performed the following three pieces:

Spirited Away by Joe Hisaishi

Prelude by Dmitry Shostakovich

Oh, Henry! by Ryan Nowlin

Thank you Chris Clark for capturing the memories from this event.
