Student Leadership
The Mercer Island Band Program offers many paths for students to challenge themselves and grow.
They are taught servant leadership, prioritizing the experience of those they lead.
Drum Majors
The Drum Majors are elected each year by their peers to be leaders and role models for MIHS Marching Band.
Section Leaders
Section Leaders are experienced band students who have been selected by their directors to teach and lead the band students in their sections. They are the first line of contact if questions arise.
Band Student Advisory (BSA)
The Band Student Advisory Committee are elected by their peers in the fall. These dedicated students attend weekly 7am meetings, plan events, and drive program goals from the student perspective.
Band Outreach Team (BOT)
The Band Outreach Team student volunteers work to build community within the band and beyond!
